North
West Resorts & Attractions Petition As most of us are probably aware by now, Our member of
staff Jim set up a petition to the Prime Minister on behalf of NWCR
members earlier this year to ask the Prime Minister to make funds
available to save our coastal resorts and their historical
attractions. The petition ended on 4th September 2008 with only 164
signatures. As there were less than 200 signatures, the petition is
not likely to get an official reply from the PM's office. Many
thanks to all who supported us by signing up.

£5 Entrance Fee for Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
has announced that it will charge a £20 entrance fee during October.
All visitors to the popular theme park, with the exception of
children, under 1m high, will have to pay the fee. The entrance fee
will allow unlimited rides and is considerably cheaper than the £32
currently charged.
It will however prove controversial as many
visitors, such as pensioners taking their grandchildren, do not have
to pay. Earlier this year Pleasure Beach announced their intention
to introduce admission fees for the 2009 season. Under the scheme a
£5 charge would allow access to just a handful of the least popular
rides.
